Painting Restoration Internship (Volunteer)

Layers Restoration is an oil painting restoration studio based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Our current clients are collectors and art dealers who expect us to offer an efficient, cost-effective, service while working to a professional standard.

We offer a flexible ongoing internship whereby you’ll work alongside Holly, our painting conservator, and also other painting conservators, to learn a range of techniques.

It would be a distinct advantage if you love the old masters.

Tasks May Include

  • Surface cleans

  • Varnish removal

  • Fills and retouching

  • Repairing tears and holes

  • Flattening bumps in canvases

  • Consolidation

Salary

The role is unpaid but we will consider travel expenses and subsistence payments.
